The opening of the Tianmu Mountain Sightseeing Park, located in Jiangyan district of Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, recently took place, revitalizing ancient city ruins from the Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC) with a new radiance.
The sightseeing park is located at the Tianmu Mountain site in the northern suburbs of Jiangyan.
In May 2006, the Tianmu Mountain site was approval by the State Council as a national key cultural relic protection unit.
In recent years, in accordance with the requirements of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, Jiangyan has listed the site as a conservation area and has actively lobbied for funds to implement the protection and security project for the site.
Last year, Jiangyan invested 31 million yuan ($4.35 million) in building the sightseeing park, which has enhanced the green landscape, improved the water environment and highlighted its historical and cultural significance without changing the original site use.
The sightseeing park is composed of attractions such as the Tianmu Countryside and Pottery Handicraft Field.
There are also over 30 varieties of shrubs and over 40 varieties of ground cover plants, making the sightseeing park a new destination for ecological strolls.
