Chenyang village in Xinghua city, located in East China's Jiangsu province, is home to nine special scrumptious snail delicacies, making it a great place to taste the delicious dishes.
Chenyang itself is surrounded by crisscrossing rivers, so its water is rich in natural organic nutrients, making it the perfect place for superb snails to grow.

After cooking, the snail – whose tail is cut off – is filled with soup. People can use their mouths or toothpicks to pick the snail meat out. You gently suck and twist it and the plump snail meat pops right into your mouth.
In the village, snail delicacies are paired with different ingredients to present rich flavors, combining with things like bacon, pickled cabbage or chicken soup.
A local chef says the key to cooking snail delicacies is the heat. If stewed for a long time, the snails will not be able to be sucked out of their shell, resulting in stiff meat. If the heat is too short, the fishy smell will be strong and eating them can easily cause diarrhea.
