The 2023 World Robot Conference will be held from Aug 16 to 22 in Beijing, an official with the China Association for Science and Technology said on Tuesday.

Xu Guanghong, deputy director for science and innovation at CAST, said the conference will be jointly organized by the association, the Beijing municipal government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

"The conference will focus on the cutting-edge technological innovations in robotics, as well as the evolution of technological achievements, and will facilitate exchanges between academia and industry," he said.

Additionally, a report on robot technology and industry development in China will be released, said Xu, adding that the conference will also feature 24 international organizations, as well as well-known national experts and entrepreneurs who will participate in a number of forums.

"On the whole, preparations for the conference are progressing in an orderly manner," he said.

According to the official, the World Robot Conference, which has been held in Beijing since 2015, has seen progress over the years.

"According to incomplete statistics, the conference has attracted over 1,000 companies from 17 countries and showcased more than 3,000 exhibits," he said, adding that over 1,600 experts and scholars from 27 countries have participated in the conference to share their latest technological achievements.

Xu said the conference has become a platform for scientific and technological exchanges and industrial cooperation to promote the high-quality development of robots and intelligent equipment.
