Xing Ji is the chief designer of Hualong One, a domestically-designed third-generation nuclear reactor. He has been engaged in the design, research and management of nuclear power programs, which include the phase-two Lingao Nuclear Power Plant, CP 1,000 nuclear power unit and Hualong One. He has made glorious contributions to the development of China's self-designed advanced pressurized water reactor (PWR) technologies. The inauguration of Hualong One marked the successful transformation of the country from reliance on foreign support to independent innovation in PWR technologies.
