The event was co-hosted by the National Communication Center for Science and Technology affiliated to the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University.

Chen Rui, deputy director of National Communication Center for Science and Technology in the CAST, explained contemporary values observed by scientific and artistic workers from the perspective of digital innovation.

He stressed that the empowerment of technological communication with culture and arts should better leverage the functions of the CAST in establishing professional alliances and building national brands for technological communication, be deeply rooted in history and modern times, strike a chord in different fields with innovative methods, remain true to the aspirations and missions of literary creation, and facilitate the integration of science and arts with daily life and ecological building.

Hu Yu, Party chief of the School of Journalism and Communication at Tsinghua University, noted that the depiction of social development goals, cultural deposits and communicative effects is absent from scientific and artistic exhibitions right now, though they are filled with digital technology and eye-catching designs.

He said that the integration of science with arts should give expression to the beauty of rational thinking, universal rules and the nature of human beings.

Liang Yan, a professor at the University of Science and Technology of China, said that the Beauty of Science is a public gathering launched by the university to demonstrate the beauty of chemistry from both macro and micro perspectives and help the public better understand the charm of chemistry through digital technology and media outlets.

Cai Xiao, founder of the Art and Science Research Center, briefed attendees on the institute's cooperation with other artistic organizations, universities of arts and independent scientific artists, together with its courses on science and arts.

Yang Rui, Party chief of the 751D·PARK in Beijing, emphasized that the integration of science with arts should fulfill due social responsibility and promote the development of innovative industries on the basis of protecting industrial civilization and cultural deposits of a city.

Hao Ninghui, vice-dean of the CAFA School of Urban Design, said that people with expertise in innovation should make full utilization of digital technology to promote social development.
