The world's first demonstration project for the heat storage technology of molten salt – designed for coal-fired power generation equipment – was recently put into operation by power utility Jiangsu Guoxin Corporation Limited.

Jingjiang city was recently selected as a provincial pioneer city for innovation development among 15 cities in Jiangsu province.

Some 11 enterprises from Jingjiang city in East China's Jiangsu province grabbed total orders worth over 18 million yuan ($2.6 million) during the first phase of the 133rd China Import and Export Fair, which started on April 15 and concluded on April 19 in Guangzhou, Guangdong province.

Sales generated by Jingjiang-based manufacturer Jiangsu Kecheng Energy Saving Technology Co Ltd topped 40 million yuan ($5.81 million) in the first quarter, soaring 150 percent year-on-year.

In the first quarter of the year, the Jingjiang Bonded Logistics Center (Type B) doubled its total value of goods under supervision compared with the corresponding period last year – by fully leveraging Jingjiang city's geographical advantages – in a performance that contributed to the local export-oriented economy.

The county-level city of Jingjiang is riding a boom in small and medium sci-tech companies, leading the way for the prefecture-level city of Taizhou which administers it.

Jingjiang city-based New Times Shipbuilding Co Ltd is currently stepping up its construction of LNG-C type fuel tankers – in order to promote the early delivery of LNG dual-fuel vessels whose orders are in the pipeline.

The shipping vessel Eileen, a bulk cargo ship with a draught of 11.5 meters sailing under the flag of Panama, berthed at Sanfeng Port Terminal in Jingjiang in East China's Jiangsu province on April 7, and became the largest foreign cargo ship to berth at Jingjiang port.
