The ongoing 19th Asian Games – the second-biggest multi-sport event after the Summer Olympics – opened on Sept 23 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province and will run to Oct 8.
It features construction projects performed by a company located in Jingjiang, a county-level city administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province.
The Wenzhou Dragon Boat Sports Center, built by the Jingjiang branch of China Construction Science and Industry Corporation Ltd or CSCEC, is hosting the dragon boat competition at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
The facility incorporates the color and dynamism of the Wenzhou national intangible cultural heritage dragon dance art.
The building's internal structure resembles a dragon lantern, with changing light and shadow creating a dance-like effect.
The project prioritized technology and craftsmanship. The center's halls feature a steel roof and steel frame structure, with a novel and energy-saving ringless prestressed cable support system.
Additionally, the Jingjiang contractor also participated in the construction of major transport infrastructure for the Asian Games.
One of these was the Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Expressway Reconstruction Project, where the company overcame manufacturing difficulties to ensure the quality of the viaduct.
