Li Shangyong, general manager of Jinchuan Group, has led a delegation to attend the London Metal Exchange annual conference in the English capital.
During the conference, Li and his team had in-depth discussions with global mining companies, smelters, traders and other institutions, exploring the current state of the international non-ferrous metal industry and future development trends. They discussed possible cooperation regarding nickel, copper and other non-ferrous metals, aiming to promote the establishment of strategic partnerships with key collaborators.
The LME annual conference
During the meeting with BHP Billiton, Li reviewed the friendly cooperation that had taken place between the two sides over the years, introduced the basic situation regarding Jinchuan’s various resource projects, and listened to BHP's development plans for the non-ferrous metal sector. Both parties also exchanged views on the global non-ferrous metals and new energy market trends, and discussed further expanding their diverse cooperation relationships.
In the meeting with First Quantum Minerals, Li presented an overview of the main business sectors of Jinchuan, and received a briefing from First Quantum Minerals on the production and operation of its various mines, as well as product sales plans. They discussed future collaboration methods regarding non-ferrous metal resources and products, unanimously recognizing the complementary advantages of both parties in the nickel, copper and other business fields, and reached a consensus on establishing a long-term stable strategic partnership.
