The mountain, an accumulation of billions of tons of waste rock slag heaps from Jinchuan mining activities, was once a scar on the local environment. However, following the principles of preserving mining heritage and ecological restoration, Jinchuan Group implemented comprehensive management and reclamation greening of the waste rock heaps. The Jinchang municipal government also supported the construction of the mine park, transforming the waste rock mountain into Jinchuan National Mine Park, which now attracts a large number of tourists.

In the "14th Five-Year Plan" period (2021-25), Jinchuan Group, based in the national mine park and relying on green mining construction, has further intensified its efforts in ecological restoration. By formulating planning maps and annual plans, managing and utilizing funds effectively, and implementing projects for geological environmental governance and land reclamation, Jinchuan Group has revitalized the mining area.

To ensure comprehensive utilization of solid waste resources, Jinchuan collaborated with the University of Science and Technology Beijing to establish a comprehensive tailings waste gypsum filling system, achieving zero-waste mining, reducing costs and alleviating pressure on the local environment. The research, application and promotion of this technology have had a profound impact on safe, efficient and sustainable production in the Jinchuan mining area.
With green as the foundation for development, Jinchuan says it has achieved coordinated development between resource allocation and environmental protection, forging a path of high technological content, good economic benefits, low resource consumption and minimal environmental pollution. Through green mining construction and ecological restoration, Jinchuan has rejuvenated the mining area, showcasing a beautiful scene of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
