Along with rising demand for biomedical materials, China has introduced several policies to support the industry's development. The "14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) for Bioeconomic Development" explicitly calls for accelerating the development of the biomedical materials industry. Jinchuan Group has also included this in its "14th Five-Year Plan for the Health Industry" and launched a project to develop key technologies for biomedical cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy rod products, striving to promote the development of the country's biomedical materials industry.

Such medical use alloys, known for their excellent features of biocompatibility, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and strength, have become the preferred materials for implants such as artificial joints and spines. Leveraging its advantages in the production of nickel and cobalt raw materials and deep processing capabilities, Jinchuan Group has partnered with research institutes and universities to form a deeply integrated R&D team. This team aims to master key technologies, achieve industrial application, and replace imported products. This project not only promotes the development of China's biomedical materials industry but also lays a solid foundation for Jinchuan Group and Gansu province to enter the biomedical materials field.

The materials developed by Jinchuan Group have completed three batches of application verification and have been shortlisted in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's biomedical materials projects.
