Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park is an important part of Jinchuan Group's efforts to accelerate technological progress, adjust industrial layout, extend the industrial chain, and implement the development of strategic emerging industries. In 2005, with the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology, it established the National Nickel-Cobalt New Materials Engineering Technology Research Center with Jinchuan Group's support. In 2009, it was officially listed, becoming the first listed national engineering technology research center in Gansu province.
According to Yang Xiaoyan, manager of Research and Development Center in Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park, "Currently, the industries we are mainly engaged in include the cathode material industry, the silver material industry, the precious metal material industry, the high-purity metal industry, as well as our battery recycling and testing business."
Going forward, Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park will focus on new catalytic materials and functional powder materials, nurturing and expanding emerging industries such as hydrogen energy field catalysts and hydrogen storage materials, catalysts in the chemical industry, additive manufacturing, MLCC nickel powder, and copper powder. It will aim to build a national-level nickel, cobalt, and platinum group metal new material technology innovation center based on the National Nickel-Cobalt New Materials Engineering Technology Research Center, and actively promote the transformation of the national engineering technology research center into a national nickel and cobalt technology innovation center.
