On June 9 (DRC time), the derrick installation of the Musonoi Project of Metorex Limited was completed.

Located in the northwest of Kolwezi, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Musonoi Project is a major overseas project of Jinchuan Group. The mixed shaft is the main channel for the transport of personnel and ore, and as the main engineering structure of the mixed shaft, the hoisting of the derrick is the most important and most difficult engineering process of the project.
The derrick of the mixed shaft adopts an A-type box steel structure, with a height of 69 meters and weight of 1,918 tons. The assembly and erection of the derrick is a high-risk project. Due to the shortage of equipment in the African market, it was a challenge for staff to accurately install this massive object in its predetermined position.

To tackle the difficulties, the team coordinated with domestic experts to develop a special construction plan, and experienced domestic lifting workers, crane drivers and welders were able to provide early support for the installation. At the same time, multiple installation simulation meetings to refine the on-site construction process were held, in a bid to ensure personnel arrangements, equipment support, technical monitoring, and safety precautions.
During construction, the project team made every effort to overcome the impact of the local rainy season, and paid close attention to the management and safety of the construction site, ensuring construction progress under the guarantee of safety and quality.
