"We can recycle about 3,500 tons of waste plastic packaging bags annually from within Jinchuan Group. After processing and manufacturing, these bags are turned into sellable PP recycled particles," said Wang Zongwei, deputy manager of the subsidiary of Jinchuan Niedu Industrial.
"Due to the impact of recycling volume, the annual production of PP recycled particles ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 tons," added Wang Zongwei. Of the recycled plastic, 70% is exported to produce injection molded products, and the remaining 30% enter the plastic packaging bag production line. At present, the self-produced PP recycled particle material used in the plastic packaging bag production line accounts for over 60% of the required raw materials, and can produce 7 million recycled woven bags for construction and chemical industries every year.
Compared with the recycling industry of waste plastics, Jinchuan's recycling history of waste resources such as steel and non-ferrous metals is longer.

The recycled waste materials will be sorted and processed, after which, copper will be supplied for the production of high-precision electronic copper strips or to phosphor copper projects, plastic technology companies and steel supply casting new materials companies. The remaining waste materials that cannot be digested internally will be handed over to the recycling station.
In 2022, the New Energy Technology Company under Jinchuan Niedu Industrial recycled approximately 7,000 tons of waste materials, including iron, steel, and plastic, and the amount of copper recovered from various types of waste products hit 100 tons. These are only a part of the recyclable waste materials generated on the industrial chain of Jinchuan Group.
"We can absorb about 60% of waste steel, bringing about economic benefits of over 90 million yuan (about $12.6 million)," said Shang Xinquan, manager of the Jinchuan Casting New Materials Company of Jinchuan Niedu Industrial. The large amount of waste steel and iron generated during processes such as mining, selection, metallurgy, and chemical engineering is the foundation of the casting industry. Some 50% wear-resistant cast balls and grinding sections, 80% wear-resistant castings and 100% of heat-resistant castings are reused in the mining, beneficiation, smelting and other processes of Jinchuan Group, completing the recycling of waste steel resources within the enterprise.
At present, Jinchuan Casting New Materials Company has become the largest production base for casting grinding balls and grinding segments in the northwest region. Its products, such as wear-resistant cast steel balls and segments, precision castings, and wear-resistant castings, are sold in Xinjiang, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Ningxia and other places.
