On Mar 19, the first batch of 190 tons of nickel-copper concentrate from Xiarihamu, Qinghai province, arrived at Jinchuan Group, marking China’s largest and second largest nickel mines successfully realizing joint production.

Located on the southern edge of the Qaidam Basin, the Xiarihamu nickel-cobalt mine is the largest sulfide nickel-cobalt deposit to be discovered in the past 20 years. Its reserves rank second in the country.
According to the relevant person in charge of Jinchuan Group Trade Co., Ltd., once the Xiarihamu nickel-cobalt mining and beneficiation project is put into production, it will further strengthen the nickel resource guarantee of Jinchuan Group, and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the nickel industry.

Since April 2022, as a participant in the Xiarihamu nickel-cobalt mining and beneficiation project, Jinchuan Group has dispatched professional beneficiation technical service teams and production and operation personnel to Qinghai province to guide project construction. The team has overcome several difficulties and successively carried out equipment installation, machine commissioning, and ore belt commissioning, gradually working out the entire production process. On March 4, 2023, the project produced its first batch of concentrate.
