Deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises to boost state-owned assets
From January to November 2022, Jinchuan achieved revenue of 318.4 billion yuan (about $47 billion), an increase of 54.2 billion yuan year-on-year, and a total profit and tax of 17.65 billion yuan, an increase of 6.03 billion yuan year-on-year. The results of deepening the reform of state-owned enterprises are constantly emerging in Jinchuan Group.
The year of 2022 is the last stage of the three-year action plan for the reform of state-owned enterprises of Jinchuan Group. Throughout the year, focusing on the further improvement of the modern enterprise system with Chinese characteristics, the adjustment and optimization of the industrial layout, and the improvement of the market operation mechanism, Jinchuan Group's leading group specialized in deepening reform comprehensively promoted the reform progress, and all departments worked together to jointly overcome difficulties.
With these efforts, Jinchuan Group has witnessed the rise of emerging vitality: Jinchuan Copper Co., Ltd. implemented the strategy of "strengthening the copper industry and expanding the precious metals industry", and became the largest copper production and processing enterprise in northern China, and the only enterprise in the world that can produce 8 kinds of precious metals and 2 kinds of rare metals; Jinchuan Information and Automation Engineering Co., Ltd implemented the "racing mechanism", establishing an incentive mechanism for matching staff and posts, and selecting digital talents; Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park Co., Ltd. optimized its rank system and performance evaluation mechanism of scientific researchers, made new breakthroughs in battery cathode materials, high-purity metals and other fields, and realized the import substitution of certain products.
Jinchuan Group won the title of "double-hundred enterprises" in 2021 of the State Council's reform of state-owned enterprises.
On Nov 10, 2022, Jinchuan Group signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Huawei to establish the Jinchuan-Huawei joint innovation center for the digital transformation of nonferrous industries, and the Jinchuan-Huawei joint operation center for the digital transformation of nonferrous industries. This is another milestone for Jinchuan to continue to deepen the reform of state-owned enterprises and build a modern industrial system with international competitiveness. It is also an important measure for Jinchuan to promote new industrialization, realize the green, low-carbon, high-end and intelligent development of process manufacturing, and contribute to the non-ferrous metal industry.

Realizing the self-reliance of core technologies with innovation
Over the years, Jinchuan Group has vigorously implemented the innovation-driven development strategy and comprehensively improved its independent innovation capability. The contribution rate of scientific and technological progress to industrial development has reached 65%, providing a strong driving force for the high-quality development of the nickel and cobalt industry.
The purity of ultra-high pure copper produced by Lanzhou Jinchuan Science and Technology Park reached 7N, the purity of highly pure nickel and highly pure cobalt reached 6N, and the production technology of high-purity nickel and cobalt copper caught up with the international level, ranking first in China and third in the world; the new electroplated palladium salt and the exhaust catalyst precursor products of China VI vehicle emission standards have realized import substitution, and their high-end market share has reached 40% and 30% respectively.
Driven by scientific and technological innovation, a number of new material industries have grown rapidly: Ni201 high-precision strip products for the battery electrodes of Jinchuan Group Nickel Alloy Co., Ltd. are exported to Japan and South Korea, and supplied to large domestic battery manufacturers; Jinchuan Precision Copper Material Co., Ltd. has become the largest production base of copper-nickel alloy pipes with a large diameter in China.
Accelerating green and low carbon transformation with a sustainable development path
Jinchuan Group has been implementing the principal of “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", constructing its industrial layout and adopting production methods with the idea of saving resources and protecting the environment.
Over the past ten years, Jinchuan Group has invested 3.4 billion yuan in technology transformation for environmental protection, pollution prevention and ecological restoration projects, realizing the improvement of the quality and efficiency of traditional industries, and also promoting a large number of new industries, including recycling chemicals.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Jinchuan has adjusted its industrial structure, increased scientific and technological innovation in the field of new energy and new materials, and built a nickel-copper-cobalt new material industrial cluster and new energy battery industrial chain. It has established a battery material industrial chain of "nickel-cobalt resources - nickel-cobalt salts - battery material precursor - battery cathode materials - resource recycling"; and a number of major new energy projects have started construction.
