The 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened in Shanghai on Nov 5. As a large enterprise that specializes in mining, metallurgy, chemical and deep processing industries, the Jinchuan Group will sign five agreements with Rio Tinto Group of the United Kingdom, Norilsk Nickel of Russia, Siemens AG of Germany, South Line of the United States and JVK Filter System of Germany, covering nickel copper raw material procurement, complete equipment import and other fields.

Jinchuan Group produces nickel, copper, cobalt, platinum precious metals and non-ferrous metal calendering products, non-ferrous metal chemicals, and other products. It has the world's third largest nickel copper sulfide deposit. It is China's largest and the world's leading nickel cobalt production base and platinum metal refining center.
After more than 60 years of construction and development, the company has carried out cooperation in the development of nonferrous metal mineral resources in over 30 countries and regions around the world. It has a production capacity of 200,000 tons of nickel, 1 million tons of copper, 15,000 tons of cobalt, 10 tons of platinum metals, 30 tons of gold, 600 tons of silver, 200 tons of selenium, and 5.6 million tons of chemical products. It has the fifth nickel flash smelting furnace in the world, which is also the first nickel flash smelting furnace in Asia. It also has the first integrated copper smelting furnace in the world.
The Oyu Tolgoi of Rio Tinto Group is one of the largest copper and gold mines in the world. Rio Tinto holds 50.8% equity in Turquoise Hill and operates the copper and gold mine of Oyu Tolgoi, which is in the Gobi region in Southern Mongolia. In 2013, it produced copper concentrate for the first time. In 2021, the production of copper concentrate was 163,000 tons. Oyu Tolgoi is one of the most important suppliers of copper raw materials for Jinchuan.
Norilsk Nickel Group mainly produces nickel, cobalt, silver and other metals, and participates in the prediction, exploration, mining, refining and mineral smelting of base metals and precious metals. Jinchuan and Norilsk Nickel established a nickel raw material supply cooperation relationship in 2015. At present, the annual nickel metal content in the raw materials supplied is about 10,000 tons. It is one of the most important nickel raw material suppliers for Jinchuan. Siemens AG is a technology company focusing on infrastructure, transportation and medical fields. It is negotiating with Jinchuan Group to sign a technical equipment procurement agreement.

As a pioneer of provincial enterprises and a national key non-ferrous metal enterprise, Jinchuan Group participates in CIIE so as to contribute to the development of Gansu province, and to cooperate with the Belt and Road initiative. Since 2018, Jinchuan Group has participated in CIIE for four times, with 29 agreements signed worth 30.4 billion yuan (about $4.2 billion).
Over the past 10 years, Jinchuan Group has been focusing on accelerating the extension of the industrial chain of nonferrous metals and new chemical materials, and moving forward to new energy power battery materials, high-temperature alloys and deep processing, electronic and electrical materials, fine chemical materials and other fields. The output value of deep processing products and productive services accounts for 43% of the total. Operating revenue increased from 150 billion yuan in 2012 to 262.2 billion yuan in 2021, with a rate increased by 75%. The total amount of profits and taxes rose dramatically from 3.8 billion yuan to 12.7 billion yuan.
