The Ruashi Mine under Metorex Limited is located five kilometers east of Lubumbashi, the second largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It consists of one open-pit mine and one hydrometallurgical plant. The mine has an annual production capacity of 36,000 metric tons of cathode copper and 5,300 metric tons of cobalt metal in its cobalt hydroxide products.
