The 2024 China-Italy Autumn Program at Wenzhou Medical University was held from Nov 18 to 28, providing rich experiences of academic learning, cultural immersion, and sightseeing to foster connections between Chinese and Italian students.

"At WMU, we believe that youth interactions are the cornerstone of a harmonious global future. By sharing ideas, culture, and friendship, we can create a world where understanding and collaboration flourish," said Zhu Xuebo, vice president of WMU.

Participants visited WMU's affiliated hospitals, where they learned Basic Life Support techniques, explored state-of-the-art facilities that highlighted the advancements in Chinese healthcare, and gained a deeper understanding of the traditional Chinese medicine culture.

Cultural excursions were yet another highlight. The students were engrossed in Chinese culture through museum visits, lectures, and hands-on activities. They were attracted by traditional Hanfu attire, eagerly trying on elegant garments that reflected the beauty and history of Chinese fashion.

Walking through the preserved streets of Rui'an and Wuma Street, participants marveled at the history of the past three to six centuries and gained a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of Wenzhou.

Suwas Bhandari, the program coordinator, expressed that this program showed not only WMU's academic and cultural strengths but also the power of coming together.
