According to the statistics of Hangzhou Customs, in the first quarter of this year, Hangzhou International Airport handled nearly 25,000 metric tons of cross-border e-commerce exports, accounting for almost half of the city's total export cargo volume.

This represents an 83.54 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The main destinations were Europe and the Americas.

On April 5 at 1:40 pm, a B777 cargo plane operated by Atlas Air and carrying 104 tons of clothing, shoes, and other small commodities for cross-border e-commerce, took off from Hangzhou International Airport for Miami, United States. This was the maiden flight of the Hangzhou-Miami cargo route.

"The Hangzhou-Miami route will initially operate two flights per week, with a maximum single-trip cargo capacity of about 110 tons, so the maiden flight was nearly full," said Wang Hansheng, general manager of the airport's International Cargo Terminal.

This is the fourth cargo route from Hangzhou International Airport to the United States, following flights to New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, and it is the first intercontinental cargo route opened this year by an airport in Zhejiang province.

Hangzhou, as one of the first pilot cities for cross-border e-commerce comprehensive trial zones in China, has seen rapid development in its cross-border e-commerce industry over the years.
