The Wuzhen Internet International Convention and Exhibition Center in Zhejiang province hosted the third High-Quality Development Conference of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 10 to 12. The conference highlighted the importance of the comprehensive and sustainable advancement of traditional Chinese medicine.

The event was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Chinese Medicine Modernization and the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with significant contributions from the Haihe Laboratory of Modern Chinese Medicine. It featured a main forum and six parallel sessions, addressing a wide array of topics, including major disease prevention and treatment, evidence-based medicine, cross-innovation, post-market research of new drugs, and industrial collaboration.

An impressive assembly of minds participated in the conference. Among them were the 13 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, over 200 renowned experts in TCM and Western medicine and more than 2,000 delegates. Marking a milestone for TCM modernization, the conference witnessed the commencement of the aggregation of “Thirty Years of Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine” and initiated the operational mechanism for “Patient-Centered” medical research through its terminal data research. Additionally, the conference announced the “The World Top 50 High Impact Researches of Traditional Medicine 2024”.

The conference underscored the importance of synergy among governments, industries, research institutes and medical practices for the forward momentum of TCM. The event’s successful conclusion marks a significant step forward in the high-quality development of TCM. Accelerating the pace of modernization and internationalization in the field will better position TCM to benefit the world.
