Vertaxi's E40H, a 150-kg-class unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), has received the Type Certificate (TC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Central and Southern Regional Administration, making it the first hybrid-powered composite-wing UAV globally to meet airworthiness standards.

The low-altitude economy, a key sector in developing new economic drivers, has been positioned as a strategic frontier for Pudong New Area's future industrial growth, with local companies continually advancing technological innovations, exploring new application scenarios, and accelerating commercialization.

Developed by Vertaxi's sub-brand Fcourier, the E40H passed its TC process with its Design Assurance System (DAS) undergoing trial operation. DAS approval, granted on Dec 10 by the CAAC Central and Southern Regional Administration, ensures compliance with the required standards, paving the way for efficient certification and future commercial operations.

The TC certificate confirms that the E40H meets rigorous airworthiness requirements and is qualified for large-scale commercial operations. The real value of this technology lies in its commercialization, transforming safety and reliability into sustainable services that benefit society.

Vertaxi is advancing certification of its 2-metric-ton M1B eVTOL, expected to enter service in 2026 for emergency firefighting and logistics. This supports Pudong's low-altitude economic ecosystem, where 10 Chinese companies have 19 certified UAVs, with Vertaxi's E40H the first hybrid to achieve this global milestone.
