Pudong advances construction of pilot zone for Silk Road E-commerce Cooperation

The State Council approved the establishment of the Silk Road E-commerce cooperation pilot zone in Shanghai and specified the creation of a central functional area within the customs special supervision area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone on Oct 17.

To promote the construction of the Silk Road E-commerce cooperation pilot zone, Pudong New Area held a release ceremony of Pudong New Area Accelerating the Development of the Pilot Zone for Silk Road E-commerce Cooperation on Dec 14.

Attending the event were the leaders of the E-commerce Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Pudong New Area, and China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration.

During the event, the "action plan for advancing the construction of the Silk Road E-commerce cooperation pilot zone in Pudong New Area" was released. 

The plan focuses on five aspects, including institutional opening measures for pilot initiatives, the construction of high-level platform carriers and enterprise clusters, the development of new forms of cross-border e-commerce, international and domestic exchange and cooperation, and the improvement of comprehensive service systems. It consists of 24 specific tasks.

The first batch of 10 member units of the Silk Road E-commerce Financial Comprehensive Service Station, the first batch of 14 member units of the " Silk Road E-commerce Overseas Warehouse Service Alliance and the first batch of 14 member units of the "Silk Road E-commerce" Cooperation and Research Center were awarded certificates during the event.

The Pudong New Area Business Commission and the Free Trade Zone Administration Bureau signed cooperation agreements with eight key platforms.

The China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Administration signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China International Electronic Commerce Center.
