Nantong troupe brings joy to Xinjiang children

The drama Nezha Battles the Red Boy was staged at the theater in Yining county, Ili Kazakh autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on May 26 to celebrate International Children's Day.

Nezha Battles the Red Boy tells the story of Nezha receiving the Military Strategy of Taigong from Jiang Ziya, but it was stolen by the Red Boy. Nezha chases to the Red Boy's cave to take the book back. The dramatic plot, splendid stage effects, and the actors' exquisite performances won rounds of applause from the audience.

The highlight of this performance was also the drama Sima Gang Smashes the Jar and other plays adapted from the textbook. Young actors dressed in prepared costumes performed with focus and confidence.

Zhang Yuping, head of the Nantong Yueju Opera Troupe of the Nantong Art Theater, said, "Our goal with these performances is to introduce top-tier cultural arts to the children of the Ili Kazakh autonomous prefecture. Witnessing the enthusiastic responses from the children, we are moved by the power of cultural exchange."

The Nantong Art Theater offered nine performances in Ili Kazakh autonomous prefecture, attracting over 10,000 viewers. This cultural exchange activity allows local children to come into close contact with the excellent cultural arts of Jiangsu, boosting cultural exchange between the two regions.
