Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province hosted a promotion activity in Seoul, South Korea, on May 22 to connect with the local tourism market.

The promotion event is expected to deepen the cultural and tourism cooperation between Nantong and South Korea through on-site promotions and intangible cultural heritage displays.

Attracting over 100 professionals from the Chinese and South Korean cultural and tourism industries, the event showcased Nantong's unique charm to guests, reaching a climax with the distribution of blue calico creative products on-site.

The promotion event also featured a designed cultural interactive space where intangible cultural heritage performances complemented thematic cultural and creative displays. The immersive experience allowed visitors to feel the unique charm of Nantong.

Historically, a South Korean patriotic poet resided in Nantong for more than 20 years, forming a deep friendship with Zhang Jian, a top scholar in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). This historical connection has impacted cultural exchanges between China and South Korea.
