To commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang, the Stunning · Dedicated to Mei Langfang fashion art exhibition is being staged at the Mei Lanfang Memorial Hall in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, from now until Dec 28.
The exhibition was designed and created by Fu Shaoxiong, an academic from the Academy of Arts & Design at Beijing's Tsinghua University, who is also an assistant professor at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.
The exhibition was inspired by Mei's Peking Opera performances, integrating traditional metal craftsmanship with modern design concepts to create a series of special artistic masterpieces.
They include phoenix coronets, wine utensils, swords, tea sets, floral ware, necklaces, shawls and earrings.
These works not only carry the heritage of traditional culture, but also demonstrate the innovative spirit of contemporary design, showcasing the unique charms of Peking Opera art and modern design.
