Taizhou, a city in Jiangsu province, recently launched a promotion event for its cuisine and tourism in Shanghai.

"Savoring Taizhou" Gourmet Tourism Week focused on promoting the city's specialty cuisine, including Taizhou's traditional dim sum, Huangqiao sesame cakes and Xinghua fishballs. Hairy crabs, a seasonal delicacy grown in the city's Qinhu Lake, were also highlighted.

Travel coupons and free tickets to Taizhou's major tourist destinations, especially those in the city's Jiangyan district, where the Qinhu Lake is located, were given away as part of the city's efforts to attract Shanghai toursits.

The event opened on Oct 20 in Wujiaochang Square of Shanghai's Yangpu district, and will last through Oct 26. This is Taizhou's sixth goumet and tourism week in Shanghai since it launched in 2018.
