Four holders of doctorate degrees were recently appointed as part-time vice-presidents in science and technology at enterprises based in the Taixing High-tech Zone – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – in a bid to meet their advanced sci-tech staffing needs.
That initiative has been followed by a provincial-level project, which encourages sci-tech people from Chinese universities and research institutes to serve as part-time VPs of science and technology in Jiangsu enterprises.
It's hoped the move will promote technological innovation and high-quality industrial development in tech-based enterprises in the province.
