Taixing – a county-level city administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province – launched a live streaming competition on April 24 to promote the online sales of local agricultural goods.
The competition aims to promote the integrated development of the digital and real economy, and become an interactive and exchange platform. Specifically, it will cultivate and select influential live streaming hosts, thus promoting strong narratives about local agricultural goods.
During the opening ceremony, Jiangsu Yicheng Ecological Agriculture Development Co Ltd, Taixing Zhimeng E-commerce Co Ltd and Taixing Jiangyuan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Co Ltd were honored as leading e-commerce companies in Taixing in terms of their sales of agricultural goods.

In recent years, a high-quality e-commerce ecosystem has been formed in Taixing. It has developed two provincial-level e-commerce demonstration towns – Huangqiao and Hongqiao – as well as a provincial-level e-commerce demonstration base in the Taixing High-tech Zone, not to mention three towns that are e-commerce powerhouses, and 10 villages with strong e-commerce characteristics.
In 2022, Taixing's online retail sales reached 24.7 billion yuan ($3.57 billion), ranking it in the top 100 county-level regions in this category.
