Established in 1991, the Taixing Economic Development Zone in Taizhou, East China's Jiangsu province, is one of the nation's earliest professional and fine chemical parks. It has been making efforts to build a waste-free chemical park in recent years.

Over the past three decades, the zone has attracted industry giants such as SP Chemicals (Taixing) Co Ltd. Since 2003, the zone has amplified its capacity for handling and disposing of solid and hazardous waste, now managing an impressive 430,000 metric tons annually.

In line with the guidelines set out by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province, the zone is steadfast in its ambition to transform itself into a waste-free park, prioritizing green, low-carbon, and high-quality developmental strategies.

By 2025, the zone has set the objectives to drastically minimize industrial solid waste production, refine the waste collection, storage, and transportation infrastructure, and elevate the comprehensive utilization rate of the waste handled there.

Additionally, it aims to boost the hazardous waste disposal and absorption rate within companies' premises to the highest extent feasible.

Looking ahead, the zone will continue to innovate by refining its waste processes, implementing advanced resource utilization techniques, and enhancing its digital supervision system.
