Binjiang town in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently ranked 47th in the 2023 Top 500 Township Economy List.
The list was recently co-released by CCID Consulting and the CCID Information Industrial (Group) Co Ltd.
The towns that made it onto the list needed to generate a general public budget revenue exceeding 150 million yuan ($20.66 million). An index system to evaluate the high-quality development of towns was also established – focusing on economic strength, development levels, industrial levels and consumption capacity.
Among the 500 towns on the list, three were from Taixing city. Binjiang town, aside, the other two were Huangqiao town – ranking 218th – and Hongqiao town, which came in at the 291st spot.
From January to June, statistics showed that Binjiang town achieved industrial invoicing sales of 50 billion yuan, actual utilization of foreign investment of $165 million and total imports and exports worth $1.68 billion.
