A joint groundbreaking ceremony for a raft of major industrial projects for the third quarter was held in Taixing city – administered by Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – on Sept 9.
With a combined investment of 12.56 billion yuan ($1.71 billion), the 31 projects cover a wide range of cutting-edge industries such as big health, new materials and new energy – with a large scale, great development potential and high-level of technology.
The construction site of a healthy snack plant being funded by Jiangsu Shabulei Food Co Ltd was the main venue of the ceremony. With an investment of 620 million yuan, when up and running the plant is forecast to produce 100,000 metric tons of baked goods including soft cookies, milk skin white bread and whole wheat soft bread.
Another major project is a special resin new materials plant costing 3 billion yuan, which on completion is estimated to generate annual invoiced sales of 4.5 billion yuan and contribute 250 million yuan in taxes per year.
Moreover, a new advanced nonferrous metal materials and new energy intelligent equipment plant costing 2.16 billion yuan is set to produce 7,000 tons of high resistance electric heating alloy products and 5,000 sets of new energy intelligent equipment for wind turbine blades annually.
