Twelve companies that settled in Taixing city, administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province, were included in the new list of national "little giant" companies, released by the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu on July 14.
"Little giant" companies are those that focus on segmented markets and have strong innovation capabilities, high market shares, mastery of key core technologies, and excellent quality and efficiency.
One prime example of a "little giant" company is Jiangsu Veik Technology & Materials Co Ltd. In recent years, the company has focused on producing fluorine and silicon coating products. It allocates over 6 percent of its annual sales revenue for technological transformation and research and development.
Another "little giant" company is Zhongtian (Jiangsu) Defense Equipment Co Ltd, which takes the lead in the national radar electronic cooling industry. Specializing in producing electronic cooling and environmental control equipment, the company maintains stable strategic partnerships with several research institutes such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China Academy of Engineering Physics.
To date, Taixing city is home to 26 "little giant" companies, ranking first in Taizhou.
