The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (MARA) recently launched the first batch of 66 national designated fishing ports for the landing of marine fishing catches. Among them, seven fishing ports are in Zhanjiang, ranking first in Guangdong province.

The seven fishing ports are Qishui Port and Wushi Port in Leizhou, the fishing port area of Zhanjiang Port in Xiashan district, Caotan Port and Jianghong Port in Suixi county, Wailuo Port in Xuwen county, as well as Bomao Port in Wuchuan.
The launching of the list is one of the measures taken by MARA to promote the strategy of revitalizing fishing ports and strengthening the management of marine fishing output.
It aims to realize the comprehensive management of marine fishery resources, as well as advance the sustainable and high-quality development of the marine fishery industry.
Jianghong Port is one of the four large fishing ports in Suixi county, Zhanjiang. The harbor basin of the port covers a total area of nearly 600,000 square meters and can accommodate over 1,000 fishing boats at the same time. [Photo/WeChat account: gdzjfb]
