Guangdong Medical University (GDMU) released its enrollment plans for the new academic year of 2020 at a press conference held on July 22.

The 32 undergraduate majors of GDMU plan to enroll a total of 5,615 students in 2020, the same as that in 2019, among which 4,747 students will be from Guangdong province.

Three new majors will be opened for the new academic year. The stomatology technology major is projected to enroll 62 students, while the intelligent medical engineering major, as well as the health services and management major are projected to enroll 72 students each.

The two majors, pediatrics and midwifery, will open two more classes, expanding their enrollment plans to 248 and 132 students respectively.

GDMU will also award students with both good character and excellent academic results. Three levels of scholarships, namely 150,000 yuan ($21,441), 50,000 yuan, and 30,000 yuan, will be offered for students from Guangdong.

Students from outside of the province, excluding students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, will be eligible for a scholarship of 20,000 yuan or 10,000 yuan per person.
