The 11th Fujian Provincial Congress of the Communist Party of China successfully concluded in Fuzhou on Nov 29.
Yin Li, Party secretary of Fujian province, delivered a work report that outlines Fujian's key missions in the next five years, spanning social development, economic transformation, environmental protection, and promoting opening-up.
Fujian will strive to maintain strong economic growth, make significant progress in constructing a modern economic system, and continuously optimize its industrial structure.
By 2026, Fujian's GDP is expected to exceed 6 trillion yuan ($942.74 billion), up over 50 percent compared to that of 2020, while its GDP per capita is expected to exceed 140,000 yuan.
Fujian will further promote opening-up by forming a higher-level open economic system, building itself into the "first home" for Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises.
As a national ecological civilization pilot zone, Fujian will take firm steps to reach the national carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, expand its forest coverage rate, as well as promote a green lifestyle.
Fujian aims to build a more civilized society where its people can enjoy good physical and mental health while living a richer spiritual and cultural life.
Fujian will further improve people's livelihoods and quality of life through measures including promoting high-quality employment, as well as establishing comprehensive education, health, and senior care systems.
Moreover, the Fujian government will enhance its governance capability, as well as strengthen the rule of law to build a safer and more stable society.
