Lu Xun Literature Edition Museum opens in Shaoxing
The Lu Xun Literature Edition Museum opened near the writer's former residence in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, on Oct 19, the 90th anniversary of Lu Xun's death. The museum features more than 1,000 rare books and documents now on permanent display and open to visitors from home and abroad.
Lu Xun left behind a large body of classic works. The museum's exhibits span a wide range of editions and periods, including complete works, individual volumes, and translations in Chinese and foreign languages — such as a 1926 edition of Wandering and a 1938 edition of the 20-volume Complete Works of Lu Xun. Also on display are sets of rare documents including manuscripts of Lu Xun's diaries and letters.
The exhibits were donated by Shi Xingwen, a collector of Lu Xun-related documents. He said he had donated the books and documents he had collected over the course of more than 50 years in the hope that they would return to Lu Xun's hometown and become available to the public.
