A delegation of Brazilian scholars, international relations experts, business executives, and Brazil specialists based in China visited Quzhou, Zhejiang province, from Sept 26 to 29 for the fourth Decoding the Chinese Path to Modernization Workshop program.

Under the theme "Common Prosperity and Chinese Governance", the delegation joined a research team from the Communication University of China on field visits covering culture, industry, public services, and rural vitalization.

The group toured the Shuitingmen historical and cultural block, several museums, a short-drama production center, the China Confucianism Museum, and the Family Temple of Confucius in Quzhou.

They also visited the Quzhou Citizen Service Center and Yudong village to learn about government services and rural development.

On Sept 28, the delegation attended a grand ceremony at the temple marking the 2,577th anniversary of Confucius' birth.

Jose Medeiros da Silva, director of the Center for Brazilian Studies at Zhejiang International Studies University, said it was his first visit to Quzhou and his first time attending the ceremony. Having studied Confucian thought for more than 20 years, he said he was impressed by the way tradition and modern life coexist in the city. He also expressed hope of seeing more youth exchanges between China and Brazil.

Launched by the Communication University of China, the workshop aims to deepen international understanding of Chinese modernization. This year's program was held during the China-Brazil Cultural Year.
