Shuanglin silk damask from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, was featured at KMITL Expo 2026 at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Bangkok, Thailand, introducing the traditional Chinese silk craft to local students and visitors.

The six-day expo, held from Sept 1 to 6 under the theme "From Lab to Life", attracted more than 100,000 visitors.

Shuanglin silk damask products were featured in three workshops at the School of Liberal Arts. Among them were traditional Chinese round fans depicting Shuanglin town's three historic bridges, which Thai high school students used as accessories in a Chinese-themed photography activity.

Shuanglin town also provided silk damask versions of the School of Liberal Arts emblem and badges for its Chinese-language program. The products were presented during the second Princess Sirindhorn Cup Chinese Speech Competition for Thai High School Students.

Shuanglin silk damask is recognized as a national-level intangible cultural heritage craft in China. Its production involves more than 10 major steps, including degumming and dyeing, weaving, and finishing. Local producers have also developed cultural products and clothing incorporating the traditional textile.

The event followed cultural exchanges between Shuanglin and KMITL. Shuanglin plans to hold further silk damask exhibitions in Thailand to introduce its history and craftsmanship to more students.
