On Nov 11, at the 2025 International Conference of Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports 2025 in Guiyang, Guizhou province, Mount Huangshan Scenic Area was honored with the title of "World Famous Tourism Mountain".
According to research by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA) and industry organizations, Mount Huangshan, along with seven other iconic mountains like Argentina's Mount Fitz Roy, was chosen as part of the second batch of "World Famous Tourism Mountains".
During the conference, Wu Xuguang, a representative from Mount Huangshan, engaged in friendly exchanges with notable figures such as He Yafei, vice chairman and secretary-general of the IMTA, UN Tourism Ambassador Zhu Shanzhong, and Peter Semone, chairman of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).
The event attracted over 350 representatives from 30 countries and regions, including international organizations, diplomatic missions in China, mountain tourism management institutions, and scholars.
Together, they explored new ways of integrating mountain tourism and exchange the latest advancements in this area.
