At the 2025 Anhui Conference on Technology Empowerment for Culture and Tourism Development, Huangshan's "AI travel assistant" was recognized as one of the province's digital innovation practice cases for its pioneering application of AI in enhancing the visitor experience.
The system integrates artificial intelligence into every stage of travel. During trip planning, it tailors personalized itineraries using intelligent algorithms. On-site, a digital virtual guide offers real-time navigation, while an AI-powered recognition tool instantly identifies scenic spots and provides cultural and historical insights.
The assistant is backed by a dedicated knowledge base containing real-time information on ticket sales, cable car operations, and shuttle schedules, ensuring timely and accurate responses to visitor inquiries. It also helps users plan budgets and estimate travel costs, making trip preparation more convenient.
During the live demo, the digital avatar of the AI travel assistant offered instant responses — advising a visitor on senior ticket policies and suggesting the best sunrise routes and nearby accommodations with one-click booking.
The project highlights Huangshan's leadership in integrating technologies into tourism, setting a new benchmark for smart travel experiences.
