In recent years, Bangxia village in Tunxi district, Huangshan, has become a thriving sanctuary for wildlife thanks to strong ecological protection efforts. The village now hosts 34 species of nationally protected plants and animals, transforming it into a paradise for migratory birds and attracting birdwatchers and photographers.
The local community has set up a bird-watching base and built a birding industry to attract visitors from all over China and beyond. This effort boosts eco-tourism and shows how protecting the environment can fuel sustainable economic growth, offering a "green pathway" where ecology and prosperity coexist.
