Bangxia village, located in the suburbs of Huangshan's Tunxi district, has discovered 34 nationally protected plant and animal species, including over 10 rare birds. This rich biodiversity has given rise to a new tourism model centered on birds.
The village's diverse forest ecosystem provides an ideal habitat for wildlife. Embracing the principle of protective development, local authorities have conducted biodiversity surveys and implemented ecological restoration projects.

Efforts include clearing reed wetlands, designating protected tea plantation areas, and constructing eco-friendly birdwatching boardwalks and vine-net barriers to separate areas for human activity from bird habitats.
So far, Bangxia village has built more than 10 birdwatching platforms, along with three dedicated routes, turning the area into a paradise for mountain animals.

Making ues of this natural advantage, villagers have transformed idle houses into distinctive homestays, with some themed around bird photography. The village also hosts bird-themed photography contests and wellness tourism, complemented by wellness activities, natural education, and water sports.

Looking ahead, Bangxia village plans to strengthen sustainable management by balancing human activities with bird conservation, while further integrating elements of birds into homestays, agricultural products, research trips, and cultural activities.
