Huangshan industrial sector shows robust growth in H1

Huangshan city reported strong industrial performance in the first half of 2024, with value-added output of major industries growing 11.4 percent year-on-year, the second highest in Anhui province. 

Industrial tax revenue reached 1.41 billion yuan ($159 million), up 9.7 percent, accounting for 33.6 percent of total tax revenue and ranking first among all sectors.  

Key industries including auto parts, equipment manufacturing, electronics, new materials and green food saw output increase 11.5 percent, contributing 9.3 percentage points to overall growth. The city's 120 leading enterprises achieved 13.8 percent output growth, representing 56.7 percent of total industrial output. Newly registered enterprises surged 55.6 percent in output value.  

Industrial electricity consumption rose 7.6 percent, ranking second in the province. The city launched 92 major industrial projects, each exceeding 50 million yuan in investment, signed agreements on 81 new projects with a total investment of 15.34 billion yuan, and secured 40.92 million yuan in provincial funding. Ten supply-demand matching events connected 263 companies, with six firms becoming first-tier suppliers to Chery Group. 

The city added 35 new industrial enterprises, bringing the total to 629, while 43 firms were recognized as provincial innovative small and middle enterprises. Qimen Black Tea Group was named a provincial-level smart factory. New manufacturing projects saw investment jump 24.2 percent, the second fastest growth rate in the province.
