On July 5, Anhui's Taiping Lake launched two major initiatives to boost immersive travel: an open house for its lake culture research center and regular nighttime shows at the water park. Both aim to move visitors beyond simple sightseeing toward more meaningful experiences.

The research center, completed after six months of preparation, has four floors dedicated to ecology, culture, and education. The first floor exhibits lake culture exchanges; the second offers interactive activities such as traditional fishing net weaving; the third is designated for researchers; and the fourth is used for study sessions. Its opening event drew 25 families, who engaged with sand tables and experiments.

The nighttime shows, which run until Aug 31 on weekends, combine traditional crafts with contemporary lighting. The highlights feature folk performances and special effects, creating a magical evening atmosphere.

This "study and night tour" model extends visitor stays, boosts spending, and pioneers new ways for cultural-tourism integration, marking a major upgrade for the scenic area.
