Spring is perfect for exploring Huangshan's Qimen county by bike.
The Riverside Leisure Route (10-12 kilometers, 2-3 hours) starts in Qimen Old Town, where morning steam rises from breakfast stalls. Follow the shaded Changjiang Greenway along the jade-like river to Tea Hill Park — climb for panoramic views of tea terraces. Visit Xiangyuan Black Tea Cultural Park to tour the factory and sample Qimen black tea. Return via the old moat, stopping at Dong Street for sizzling huishui rice cakes.

For a longer ride, the Ancient Village Loop (35km, 4-6 hours) begins in Likou town. Pedal past golden rapeseed fields to Xitang village's hidden tea trails, where farmers harvest leaves under bamboo hats. Finish in Lixi's ancient forest, where sunlight filters through 1,000-year-old trees.
The Countryside Culture Route (20km, 3-4 hours) winds from Huansha village's towering camphor tree to Zhukou's riverside pastures. Stop at Tanxia village, the birthplace of Mulian Opera, and watch herons skim the water at dusk. Reward your ride with bamboo-shoot stew at a farmhouse.
Pack light, bring a camera, and let Qimen's tea-scented breezes guide you.
