The starting ceremony of the 2024 EcoRally Cup (China) Huangshan Stage and the 2024 Greater Huangshan International EcoRally took place on Sept 28 at Youyou Lake in Huangshan.
The rally, organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile or FIA and the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China, marks the first time the event has ventured out of Europe and into Asia, landing in Anhui province.
Spanning five days, the route connects Hefei and Wuhu cities, two major new energy vehicle industrial clusters in Anhui, passing through Xuancheng, Huangshan, Chizhou and Anqing cities. The rally comprises five stages covering approximately 800 kilometers, with 80 renowned domestic and international drivers participating.
In recent years, Huangshan has established a platform for sports events, promoting the integrated development of "sports +". It's hosted a series of high-profile national events that highlight the special cultural and natural characteristics of the city.
The hosting of the EcoRally Cup is expected to play a significant role in promoting the city's automotive sports and nurturing the automotive industry.
On the evening of Sept 27, the awards ceremony for the event along with a car music market were held in Huangshan.
The event featured vibrant music performances and a distinctive market showcasing Huangshan's unique products – such as Huangshan Maofeng tea and Taiping Houkui tea.
This allowed domestic and international participants of the EcoRally to chill out and experience authentic Huangshan flavors amid the excitement of the intense competition.
