On Sept 2, Huangshan announced the Global Digital Nomad Hub Construction Action Plan, the first provincial-level policy of its kind in China. This initiative sets ambitious goals for transforming Huangshan into a premier destination for digital nomads.
The plan outlines two key milestones: By 2027, Huangshan aims to establish eight large digital nomad hubs, attracting 500 teams and over 200,000 digital nomads. By 2030, the target expands to 15 large hubs and several smaller ones, drawing one million digital nomads and positioning Huangshan as a global hotspot for digital nomadism.
Five core actions will drive this vision: creating model hubs, enhancing existing facilities, fostering collaborative growth, boosting innovation, and expanding international outreach. These efforts will leverage existing digital nomad projects in the region and integrate with global standards to attract foreign digital nomads.
To support this initiative, Huangshan will utilize various funding sources, explore innovative land use policies, and provide targeted support for high-level talent. The plan also includes a robust monitoring and evaluation system to track progress and promote successful practices.
Huangshan is poised to become a leading global hub for digital nomads, blending work, travel, and innovation.
