Zhang Xiaofei, a talented painter from Huangshan, is gearing up to represent China at the 47th WorldSkills Competition in Lyon, France, September, 2024. Training at the Painting and Decorating Project China Training Base, Zhang focuses on perfecting his skills in creating decorative murals.
In September 2022, Zhang, a student at the Art College of Huangshan University, clinched the gold medal in the Painting and Decorating Project at the second National Vocational Skills Competition in Tianjin. Born in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, in 2002, Zhang joined the Visual Communication Design program at Huangshan University at 18. His passion for painting led him to join the school's team during his sophomore year.

This March, Zhang successfully advanced through the selection process to join the national training team for the WorldSkills Competition. The competition in Lyon will see him tackle six complex modules, each requiring high precision and meticulous attention to detail.
To prepare, Zhang has been undergoing rigorous training, including professional English courses and physical conditioning, ensuring he is ready for the international stage. His coach, Li Jun, praises Zhang's dedication, highlighting his practical approach, diligence, and strong mental resilience as key factors in his success.
Zhang is excited about the opportunity to showcase Huizhou craftsmanship on a global platform. He hopes to see the Chinese flag raised in his honor, reflecting his hard work and determination.
