Eight Italian travel agents embarked on a journey to Huangshan on April 19, following an invitation from the Rome Office of Ministry of Cultural and Tourism and Department of Culture and Tourism of Anhui province.
They participated in an evening event where the Huangshan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism showcased the city’s tourism offerings, including its natural landscapes, villages, and nightlife. The event featured an interactive zone exhibiting representative intangible cultural heritage projects of Huangshan, such as paper-cutting, fish lanterns, lacquerware, bamboo carving, prints, and flower arrangement.

During their visit, the Italian delegation will explore various attractions in Huangshan, including the scenic spots of Huangshan Mountain, the ancient village of Hongcun in Yixian county, and the Huizhou Cultural Museum. The aim is to provide them with a firsthand experience of the beauty of Huangshan's landscapes and the richness of its culture.
This visit underscores the ongoing cooperation between Huangshan and Italy. Last May, Huangshan's Tunxi District signed a memorandum of friendly exchange and cooperation with Melegnano, Italy. Together, they have organized international art exhibitions and artist exchange activities, laying a solid foundation for cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism.
The influx of Italian tourists to China has seen a significant boost, with Italy being the fourth largest source of tourists from Europe. With China's visa-free policy for Italian tourists introduced at the end of 2023, the numbers are expected to rise further. This year, marking the 20th anniversary of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy, highlights the significance of enhancing tourism exchanges and cooperation between Anhui and Italy.
