Situated in Shexian county, Anhui province, the Ancient Huizhou Culture Tourism Zone borders Huangshan Mountain on the north and Qiandao (Thousand-island) Lake on the south.
It has five major scenic spots: Ancient Huizhou Town, Garden of the Bao family together with Tangyue Memorial Archways, the ancient villages at Tangmo and Chengkan and the ancient civilian residences in Qiankou Village.
Huizhou Ancient Town is home to the local Huihzou culture. Along with Pingyao in Shanxi, Lijiang in Yunnan and Langzhong in Sichuan province, it is listed as one of the four best-preserved ancient towns in China.
Huizhou culture refers to a civilization that originated in southern Anhui. It combines the local ethos, the Confucian school of idealistic philosophy, and commercialism.
